An interviewed man catcalls women during a report on harassement
Patrick Jones is in New York streets and realizes short passerbys interviews, for the Buzz 60 chanel, about catcalling and street harassment. Patrickk Jones begins the interviews by asking random boys and girls what they are thinking and feeling about catcalling.
A first girl responds him that this behavior is disgusting, then a guy explain that nobody should do that to somebody. A girl accompagnied by his boyfriend will tell that she feels uncomfortable when someone is harrassing her in the street. Finally, a last girl says that she’s feeling catcalling and street harassment as horrible.
Then, Patrick Jones interviews a male passerby who is used to do catcalling. The interviewed guy explain that sometimes, he has to call girls. He therefor shows his way to do it. He starts to make noise with his mouth like he is calling his dog, then whistles then make kiss noises.
Patrick Jones asks him how he calls a dog, the interviewed guy responds “Same way (as a girl)”, reproducing the whistle sound that he did earlier. Patrick Jones then asks him, how catcallings make a person feel. The man responds that the person feels good, and begins to search around for someone to catcall to make an example.
A short moment later, he will catcall someone in front of the camera, surprising Patrick Jones. Then, he will discover that the report getting produced, is explaining that catcalling is bad practice. It won’t discourage him to try bringing the proof that it does work.
A blond girl will pass on the sidewalk, getting him to try again the catcall method, even calling her “sweetheart”, but she will leave the area ignoring him.
